Michael Ricciardi
Observations

Michael Ricciardi is an Arts & Sciences educator, philosopher, curator, performance poet, and inter-media artist living in Seattle, Washington. He has self-published three mixed-genre chapbooks [amer arcana, 1993, Zygote Flux 1998, Space Junk, 2003], an epic poem, "Genomia" [2002], and one spoken word CD [Chaosmosis, 2003]. Michael's writing has been published in Nobody's Orphan Child [1996], Vox Populi [2001], and The Surface [2003]; an additional chapbook, Emergeometry, was published by Warm Mango Press [2001].

Michael has given performances [solo and multi-media w/ accompaniment] at Lollapalooza [1994], Arts Edge [1997, '98], Bumbershoot [2001], The Seattle Poetry Festival [1997, '98, 2001], and the National Poetry Slam [Seattle National Slam Team, Austin, TX, 1998], as well as numerous clubs, cafes, and performance venues from Cambridge, MA, to Vancouver, B.C.

He is the recipient of numerous awards and grants for his artwork [photography, video-poetry] and creative projects, including 'Future For WORD', a special exhibition of visual, experimental, and new media poetry [recipient of an Allen Foundation for the Arts Grant, 2001, 2002].
