Influenced by late 70's acts like Blondie, The Pretenders and Generation X, to current bands like Magic Dirt, The Spazzys and Spiderbait, Kathematics remain hard to pigeon-hole, as they possess an alternative leaning combined with commercial appeal. Formed in Melbourne in January 2003 by ex-KTV singer/ guitarist/songwriter Kath, Kathematics have played high profile venues and did their first regional tour of Victoria in 2005. Kathematics released their self-titled debut EP independently in February 2004. The EP received airplay on Triple J, Nova, 3RRR, 3PBS and 4ZZZ in Brisbane and is now sold out.
