Gwyn McVay ("Our Black Madonna") is the author of two chapbooks of poems: Brother Ikon (Inkstone Press, 1996) and This Natural History (Pecan Grove Press, 1998). Her poems have appeared in three anthologies and in journals including Exquisite Corpse, New American Writing, Sulfur, Talisman, Tikkun,and others. She was editor of So to Speak: a feminist journal of language and art; previously she was associate editor of AWP Chronicle and copyeditor for the Journal of Buddhist Ethics. She designed a home page for Carolyn Forché, her thesis director at George Mason University, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts in poetry in 1998. She actually uses that degree once in a blue moon while working in IT. Her collection of poems, Propaganda of the Deed, remains temporarily unpublished, as does her novel, Eerie Truth Hill.
