"These photos were taken in February 2005. As we walked through some swampland, we came upon a large farm house destroyed by the 1999 hurricanes. We didn't know who we were photographing when we took our first picture. We were just sort of spooked and taking the photos from a distance. Then we realized — there was a broken bathroom cabinet door with a mirror on it, hanging behind the fallen timbers. We were taking photos of ourselves."
